Attention, joy, equanimity, gratitude, compassion, courage, integrity, and the capacity for peace are not fixed traits, but competencies that can be developed through conscious practice.
Applied Research and Concept Development
As part of my work, I research and develop psychological concepts aimed at promoting mental health and fostering human potential.
In particular, I explore how constructive mental states and inner qualities such as joy, gratitude, compassion, equanimity, integrity, and wisdom can be consciously cultivated and integrated into everyday life.
The goal is to bring together psychological science, practical experience, and insights drawn from contemplative traditions.
One important approach is that of the Psychologiemanufaktur™
The German term Psychologiemanufaktur (literally: Psychology Workshop) refers to an approach that views psychological development as a hands-on process of cultivation and craftsmanship.
We define it as follows:
Psychologiemanufaktur™
A neologism combining psychology and workshop/manufacture.
The Psychology Workshop refers to a psychological approach that understands human development as an active, hands-on, and experience-based process. In contrast to purely problem-focused or deficit-oriented models, it places the conscious cultivation of psychological competencies and inner qualities at its center.
The underlying assumption is that many psychological capacities—such as attention, emotional regulation, equanimity, gratitude, compassion, integrity, relational competence, and the capacity for peace—are not primarily stable personality traits, but developable competencies that can be strengthened through practice, reflection, and lived experience.
The term workshop highlights the idea of psychological development as an individual and carefully crafted process. Similar to traditional craftsmanship, psychological maturation does not arise solely from theoretical knowledge, but through repeated practice, self-exploration, feedback, and the integration of insights into daily life.
The Psychology Workshop combines scientific findings from psychology with practical experience, as well as selected insights from educational, health, peacebuilding, and contemplative traditions. Its aim is to promote mental health, human potential, and the sustainable development of individual and interpersonal competencies.
